These chamber music works indeed have a lyrical, balanced and reassuring character. They will no doubt have had a soothing effect on both players and listeners. A curious aspect of many of these dance-like pieces is the high level of technical skill required of the players.

Allan together with a symphony orchestra! Pauler hired the "Göttinger Symphonie Orchester" with their agile conductor Christoph-Mathias Mueller; Valter Sivilotti and Allan Taylor joined the recordings in Göttingen, and a very successful session was performed.

The essence of love both graceful and epic, transforming over generations through the works of Chinese "Literati", is wonderfully embodied into the sensational vocal performance of the unique singer. With an ensemble of prominent musical talents in the country, the album illustrates the marriage of East and West by modern classical orchestrations and choirs crossing-over with exotic Chinese solo instruments and recitals. Tasked with such an ambitious project, the Stockfisch crew travelled to Beijing with our own equipment in 2011, recorded in the spectacular concert hall of China National Radio.

Patrick O´Byrne's interpretation on the Stockfisch SACD has it all: Impressionist sound painting to enjoy and savour … the quiet dreaminess of La Vallée des cloches – this symphony of bells uses the whole sonic spectrum of bells and embodies this magnificent theme. Very fine examples for Patrick O'Byrne´s pianistic virtuosity to the highest degree are Alborada del gracioso from “Miroirs” and Ondine or Scarbo from “Gaspard de la nuit“.

Gergely Bogányi was so affected by the recent SACD piano-recordings from Northeim, that he decided spontaneously to play a selection of his Chopin repertoire for Stockfisch-Records. Günter Pauler were quick off the mark and prepared the microphones. During two (night)sessions Gergely Bogányi recorded all of the 21 Nocturnes by Frédéric Chopin - an amazing performance of concentration and musicianship! Gergely Bogányi’s piano playing is really fascinating, because he becomes one with Chopin’s genius.
