Patrick O´Byrne's interpretation on the Stockfisch SACD has it all: Impressionist sound painting to enjoy and savour … the quiet dreaminess of La Vallée des cloches – this symphony of bells uses the whole sonic spectrum of bells and embodies this magnificent theme. Very fine examples for Patrick O'Byrne´s pianistic virtuosity to the highest degree are Alborada del gracioso from “Miroirs” and Ondine or Scarbo from “Gaspard de la nuit“.

Gergely Bogányi was so affected by the recent SACD piano-recordings from Northeim, that he decided spontaneously to play a selection of his Chopin repertoire for Stockfisch-Records. Günter Pauler were quick off the mark and prepared the microphones. During two (night)sessions Gergely Bogányi recorded all of the 21 Nocturnes by Frédéric Chopin - an amazing performance of concentration and musicianship! Gergely Bogányi’s piano playing is really fascinating, because he becomes one with Chopin’s genius.

After many years on the road and writing music, I've decided to stop touring and recording. It's hard to explain why but I hope you will understand. I had a good run but I think it's over. Guitars, exotic instruments including the harp form an ideal backdrop for the singer – with Sara K. sounding articulate to the highest degree, her performance mature, completely lacking any harshness whatsoever. A great small jazz band, a legendary American composer and marvellous sound – it was a year ago that this mixture created one of the most remarkable sound recordings, the Direct-to-disc-Cut of the Bassface Swing Trio and their tribute to Gershwin. Carl Cleves & Parissa Bouas come from Australia. Their fame Down Under is considerable. Their new album on Stockfisch is called "Out Of Australia". Parissa's angelic voice comes close to an invitation; that is, one from water nymphs and ancient dwellers of the woods of mythology. Paul O'Brien is a songwriter with deep roots and broad horizons. An English-born child of Irish immigrants now living in British Columbia, he cut his teeth on Irish music. In the long tradition of folk / roots artists everywhere, O’Brien helps keep his musical roots alive by teaching guitar, mandolin and bodhran (the traditional Irish drum).
